As Trichologists and Hair Loss Practitioners we specialize in various scalp conditions, thinning hair and hair loss.  For these reasons, we see many clients with those issues.  Sometimes the client may have seen a doctor for their condition, and the doctor may have ordered that lab tests be done.

What does this have to do with scalp conditions and hair loss, you say?  Hair has several functions:   protection, regulation of body temperature, facilitation of evaporation of perspiration (sweat), and as a sensory organ.  Hair is made up of protein (91%), and other amino acids that include Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Sulphur aka COHNS.  Hair follicles are rapidly dividing cells that require nutrients, energy and stimulation to produce strong viable hair strands.
